John Christ Custom Guitar Picks Variety 4-Pack

$17.99

John Christ uses three types of custom Clayton Standard triangle or Rounded triangle picks. Tonal variations can be achieved simply by using a different pick. These picks are extremely durable—John is still using picks that are over 20 years old!

  • Effect on tone: Based on their varying thickness and source material, these picks can expand a guitar player’s options for creating inspirational sounds for songwriting and improvising. The white picks (Acetal), and black picks (Delrin), are heavy and strong at 1.52mm thickness. These picks are thicker than the old industry standard ‘heavy’ picks of .85 -1.2mm.

  • Chugging away with the large rounded triangle white Acetal picks is like banging a sledgehammer on the strings, but in a good way. The large size also facilitates increased force and power both on electric and acoustic guitars. This larger pick (about the size of the U.S. 50 cent piece), takes some getting used to. Though once your hand adjusts to the feel, you’ll realize that this pick is easier to hold onto during intense live performances. John needs to keep one-eye-open on the Mosh pit,’ and the incoming spewing projectiles from the crowd.

  • Balanced tone: The purple Delrin pick (purple Delrin 1.14mm) is the lightest pick in John’s quadrivium. John likes to employ the purple 1.14mm Delrin for recording clean electric guitar sounds and most acoustic guitar parts. The purple pick’s material, while still thick by industry standards, helps accentuate the rich, high pinging overtones present in high quality acoustic guitars.

  • Musical expression: The more-dynamic acoustic guitar sounds often need to be delicately coaxed out, “by the right amount of pressure, in the right place, at the right moment, and for just the right amount of time.”

  • Ability to grip: The JC logo ink on both sides of the picks helps to create a good gripping surface; flip the pick to the logo side for less grip; flip the pick to the John Christ side for more grip.

The John Christ, [Four Pack-O-picks], includes each one of these custom picks:

  • White Standard size triangle shape: Made from white Acetal, 1.52 mm, black print.

  • Black Standard size triangle shape: Made from black Delrin, 1.5 mm, white print.

  • White Tri-oval or Large Rounded-edge triangle shape: Made from white Acetal, 1.52 mm, black print.

  • Purple Standard size Triangle shape: Made from purple Delrin, 1.14 mm, black print.
